The trip back to England started with a taxi strike that required our B&B owner to personally drive us to the ferry terminal in Dublin. That was followed by an entire string of train malfunctions, delays, cancellations, and re-routings that delayed our arrival in York past midnight. The next day, however, was beautiful and we enjoyed sight seeing during the day and a delightful dinner with Dave and Lorrie Sugden who drove over from Leeds.
The following day the train woes returned. A broken down freight train followed by speed restrictions due to high air temperatures meant we missed our flight. Several standby waits later we made it to Chicago and then home.

Good start - little did we know a train delay would cause us to miss our flight home
